A San Antonio man was fatally shot as he reportedly was outside his east-side home changing a light bulb, authorities said. The incident, which occurred yesterday night, resulted in the death of the man after being rushed to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.
Officers responded to the 2700 block of Lake Crystal Street around 10 p.m., after receiving reports of a shooting in progress, according to KENS 5. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim, 30-year-old Robert Reyes-Rincon, stricken with at least three gunshot wounds.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner identified the man, who was purportedly engaged in a conversation with an individual in a gray or silver sedan when the suspect abruptly opened fire. Reyes-Rincon then managed to retreat inside his house to call for help. He was subsequently taken to BAMC in critical condition but did not survive the injuries inflicted upon him.
As the search for the assailant continues, details regarding the motive and circumstances of the shooting remain scarce. Meanwhile, the local community has been left to grapple with the shock and the aftermath of yet another life abruptly ended by the pull of a trigger.
