An allegedly haunted San Antonio mansion, known as Victoria's Black Swan Inn, became the site of a real-life frightening encounter when a shotgun-toting resident interrupted what he thought to be a burglary in progress. Early Friday morning, Jo Rivera, the owner of the historic inn, was jolted awake by the unexpected sound of piano music echoing through her residence, according to information obtained by KENS 5. Initially mistaking the noise for an early arriving vendor, Rivera's partner descended the stairs with a shotgun to confront the intruders.

"Don't move! Stay right here!" Rivera's partner reportedly commanded the trespassers, only to find out the intruders were a group of teenagers. Rivera shared with KENS 5 how she chastised the teens, emphasizing the grave risk they had incurred. "How stupid are you? You could be dead! This was the dumbest thing you've ever done! Like, what were you guys thinking?" she asked them. San Antonio police swiftly responded to the scene.

The group composed of two girls and two boys managed to surprise Rivera not only with their break-in but also with their cavalier attitudes once caught. One of the girls simply expressed her desire to play the piano, an ambition that seemed, to Rivera, perilously ill-conceived for a 2:00 a.m. intrusion. "You broke into our house at 2:00 in the morning to play a piano?" Rivera recounted to KENS 5. "How stupid can you be? Where are your parents?"

Despite the potential for this encounter to have turned decisively tragic, Rivera was grateful for her partner's composure during the incident. "The whole thing could to have gone dramatically differently," she told KENS 5, reflecting on the events. Even as the police were taking control of the situation, the teens' indifferent demeanor persisted, with one boy inquiring about the consequences of failing to appear in court, to which an officer firmly advised him of the seriousness of their actions.
