SAN ANTONIO – Valentine's Day at Methodist Hospital was an occasion sweeter than any box of chocolates, as babies in the NICU were all dolled up in festive garb to mark the day of love. These newborns, who are taking their first breaths of life in both the Mother-Baby Unit and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), were caught on camera decked in heart-themed outfits and red bows, according to a report by KENS5.
Overcoming the tried and true notion that the stork brings the best presents, moms like Breanne Mosley were brimming with joy. "This has been the best Valentine's Day gift, just in time, too," Mosley told KENS5. It seems the Methodist Hospital's latest effort is more than to just provide care—it’s to bring about a celebration that new families will never forget. In 2023, the hospital delivered more than 6,400 babies, making it the top baby-delivering hospital in San Antonio.
Mayde Gomez, Director of Communications at Methodist Hospital, emphasized the hospital's commitment to family experience saying, "Methodist Hospital is dedicated to providing exceptional care to families and newborns in San Antonio." She highlighted the advanced technology and trained pediatric team that work together to send each family home with special memories as well as a healthy newborn.
But it wasn't only at Methodist where babies were stealing hearts. Indeed, the babies at Texas Health hospitals were also sporting Cupid-inspired outfits, getting into the spirit for Valentine's Day, as reported by Yahoo News. With bundles of joy all around, Texas boasted its share of Valentine's Day love, spread liberally through neonatal units across the state. Love and cuteness continue, proving to be contagious throughout Texas this Valentine's Day, just ask any new parent cradling their own little cupid.
