Jet setters landing at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport are in for a new parking tune, as the port of entry gears to introduce a premium 'Reserved Parking' service that guarantees a spot come March 5, according to the officials. As reported by BNN Breaking, travelers can kiss goodbye to the frantic search for parking, with stalls awaiting them on the dedicated fourth floor of the airport parking garage.

The forthcoming Reserved Parking program aims to replace the Pre-Booked Parking and Terminal Direct options, offering passengers peace of mind with their spot secured upon arrival "regardless of how full the garage is or their arrival time," Jane Doe, an airport spokesperson told BNN Breaking. Meanwhile, KIRO 7 has revealed that the program comes with a price tag – parking will cost $47 a day with a minimum stay of two days, and talks of "variable rate pricing" might soon follow suit.

Demanding a bit of pre-trip planning, the new system requires flyers to book online and scan a QR code upon entering the garage. As per a release cited by King5, modifications or cancellations to reservations are free of charge up to six hours before the reserved entry time. However, wait until the last minute and you'll be slapped with a $25 cancellation fee.

Starting Feb. 29, SEA Airport won't take any new bookings for the former system as it transitions to the Reserved Parking, according to KIRO 7. For drivers who skip the reservation, it'll be a detour – they'll be redirected out of the exclusive lane and have to find another spot on other open floors. The airport assures though, that for those who've already booked under the previous program, their reservations will be honored.
