Miami Beach police confirmed the news yesterday afternoon after a beachgoer stumbled upon the unsettling sight near North Beach's 7900 block and reported it, as per Local 10.
The area was promptly cordoned off by authorities as the Miami Beach Police Department launched their death investigation around 1:30 p.m. Sky 10 helicopter footage captured just after 3 p.m. showed officers working diligently on the scene, placing a box over the tragic remains and subsequently removing it from the sand.
