In the Pine Lakes neighborhood of Sudbury, more than 20 vehicles were reportedly broken into overnight. The Sudbury Police Department disclosed that the incidents occurred in the early morning hours or possibly late at night on February 18th. According to a statement from the police department, all break-ins seem to have been concentrated off of Hudson Road.

The residents, lulled into a sense of complacency by the neighborhood's typically low crime rate, might not feel the need to lock their vehicles or even their homes. With the investigation ongoing, the police are on the lookout for any suspicious footage from home security cameras or witnesses who observed anything out of the ordinary late on February 18th. Sudbury Police Department urges anyone with relevant information to come forward and contact them at (978) 443-1042.

While it appears that the thieves targeted unlocked vehicles, police warn that visible high-value items could tempt perpetrators to break into even secured cars. A notification issued by the Sudbury Police highlights "We implore all residents to ALWAYS secure your vehicles as well as your house! Although perpetrators are typically looking for unlocked vehicles, if high-value items are left in plain sight this may entice one to forcibly gain entry. Please do not leave valuables in your vehicles, particularly in plain sight! Thank you for your anticipated cooperation."
