A brazen robbery in a quiet San Antonio neighborhood led to a massive manhunt and forced local schools into lockdown, authorities said. The ordeal began yesterday, in the Deer Creek area, when an unidentified male suspect allegedly assaulted a resident during a home invasion on the 300 block of Brush Trail Bend. According to FOX San Antonio, no weapons were used in the altercation, but the aftermath sent ripples through the community.
In response to the threat, several schools, including Legacy Traditional School, Watts Elementary, and Barbara Jordan Intermediate were swiftly placed on secure status. During this time,, the students' routines remained relatively unchanged inside, but the exterior doors were locked tight to prevent any potential entry by the suspect. It was a precautionary stance in the face of uncertainty, Cibolo Police Department clarified, indicating the seriousness of the situation unfolding nearby.
Multiple law enforcement agencies converged, scouring the neighborhood with vehicles, on foot, and aided by drones and K9 units in a bid to track down the suspect. However, despite their extensive efforts, the individual managed to evade capture. The suspect's description has not been released, but the search is far from over, with police working diligently to piece together the details of the case.
Parents and residents were understandably shaken by the day's events, the quiet of their daily lives shattered by crime's intrusion. As of now, the suspect remains at large, and authorities are appealing to the community for any information. With the suspect still on the run, and the investigation ongoing, local law enforcement urges witnesses, or anyone with pertinent information, to reach out to the Cibolo Police at 210-659-1999.
