Booze-fueled crash lands driver behind bars, cops say. On the night of February 23, Harris County Constables were quick to respond to the scene of a vehicle mishap in the 20000 block of the North Freeway. The man at the wheel, Luis Montalvo, gave off the unmistakable air of one who'd indulged heavily before taking the drive, according to law enforcement officials.
Deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office wasted no time to carry out a battery of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which were more than enough to confirm that Montalvo wasn't simply tired or distressed—he was under the influence. According to Constable Herman, "Luis Montalvo was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Driving While Intoxicated." With those words, the consequences of Montalvo's actions began to formally take shape.
After Montalvo's alleged drunk driving incident, he was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated. He was then taken to Harris County Jail with a surprisingly low bond of $100. This amount, set by County Court 2, might seem lenient considering the serious risks posed to the public.
