
Three victims were rushed to the hospital after their minivan was involved in a severe crash with a tree in West Palm Beach, Florida. According to CBS12, the accident occurred yesterday afternoon when their vehicle veered off the road and made a "violent collision" with a tree.
The incident, which happened around 4:20 p.m. at the intersection of Military Trail and Okeechobee Boulevard, required Palm Beach County Fire Rescue to employ the jaws of life to free two passengers from the wreckage, the third was able to be rescued with comparatively less effort. Two of the injured were deemed to meet Trauma Alert Criteria, an indication of their serious condition.
Photos from the scene showed the substantial damage to the minivan, with the front end crushed against the now uprooted tree. The vehicle was pictured on a tow truck soon after Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office took over the scene for investigation around 4:45 p.m.
Simultaneously, WPTV also reported on the crash noting that upon PBCFR's arrival at the northwest corner of the Military Trail, and Okeechobee Boulevard. They discovered a minivan with stark front-end damages from striking a tree.
All involved parties were transported to a local trauma center, with conditions of the victims not disclosed beyond the initial trauma alert status. The sheriff's office has not yet released additional details on what might have caused the vehicle to crash or the current condition of the three individuals hospitalized.
