Chaos stirred at an Avondale high school earlier today when two students were busted by cops for allegedly flashing a piece from their car parked at La Joya Community High School. According to 12 News, police descended on the scene around 7:40 a.m. after school staffers spotted the duo handling the gun and identified them to the authorities.
The situation escalated when officers searched the students' vehicle and discovered a handgun on the premises; both were minors and are now facing weapons charges. As the school day began with a scare, it was confirmed by the police that no direct threats were aimed at any of the students or faculty, despite the implied danger of the weapon being brandished on school grounds.
In a swift response to the alarm raised by school personnel, Avondale police took swift action in apprehending the two suspects — preventing what could have escalated into a much grimmer scenario. The involved students' identities have not been disclosed due to their juvenile status.
