According to 12 News, police descended on the scene around 7:40 a.m. after school staffers spotted the duo handling the gun and identified them to the authorities.
The situation escalated when officers searched the students' vehicle and discovered a handgun on the premises; both were minors and are now facing weapons charges. As the school day began with a scare, it was confirmed by the police that no direct threats were aimed at any of the students or faculty, despite the implied danger of the weapon being brandished on school grounds.
