According to the MBTA Transit Police, the young driver was found to be unlicensed, and as such, criminal charges are expected to be filed. The collision with the T bus, which was properly stopped in the bus stop at the time of the incident, caused unexpected delays for commuters relying on the public transportation service.
The Boston traffic scene is no stranger to such accidents, but the involvement of an unlicensed driver has raised concerns about road safety and the enforcement of driving regulations in the city. The MBTA Transit Police did not disclose the specifics of the pending charges against the Honda operator but indicated that legal action is forthcoming.
While bus passengers escaped unscathed, the incident serves as a reminder of the precarious balance between road safety and the challenges enforcement agencies face with unlicensed drivers on the road. Commuters who witnessed the accident expressed relief that it was not more serious, with no reported injuries amongst the passengers or the bus driver.
