In an unusual twist of events late Tuesday night, a Florida woman's hunger for tacos was left unsatisfied when a cunning group of raccoons intercepted her DoorDash delivery. Caterina Sevares, a resident of West Palm Beach, was anticipating her order from the local eatery Talkin’ Tacos around 2:30 a.m. only to discover that her meal had already been devoured by the bold furry bandits right on her porch.
According to WSVN, the woman had just finished with the shower and, upon hearing the delivery alert, rushed to greet her meal, but she was met by scattered toppings and the remains of a torn paper bag instead. The encounter swiftly turned into a spectacle on social media. Sevares managed to capture the aftermath on video, including a daring raccoon that stood on its hind legs as if to challenge her, before sharing it on TikTok where it racked up over 4.8 million views.
One of the raccoons, which seemed to eye Sevares defiantly, prompted amused responses from viewers online. "He really stood up and said, ‘I bet you won't fight about it,'" one person commented on the TikTok video. Meanwhile, the ordeal reportedly left Sevares both startled and resigned to her loss, as she recounted to Fox 35, "Once they started hissing, I shut the door so fast. I was like, ‘They can have the carne asada, it’s fine.'"
Despite the unexpected loss of her late-night meal, Sevares' story had a savory conclusion, as Talkin' Tacos acknowledged the incident humorously on Instagram and offered her compensation. "Taco thieves on the loose!" the business captioned, while also sending Sevares a gift card and vowing her tacos on the house for her trouble. Regrettably, no other restaurants were available to satisfy her after-theft cravings at that hour, so she was left with no choice but to wait until the next day for a meal.
