Nine individuals have been left without a roof over their heads after their residence was scorched by fire in west Phoenix. The Phoenix Fire Department reported to the scene of the blaze around 1:30 p.m. yesterday near 67th Avenue and Camelback Road, the inferno generating thick plumes of smoke visible from the roof of the home.
"On arrival crews found heavy smoke coming from the roof line of a residential home," said Capt. Todd Keller, a public information officer for Phoenix fire, according to a 12 News report. Firefighters executed a quick offensive, dousing the flames and halting their march to neighboring structures. Thankfully, the incident resulted in no physical injuries to the home's occupants or the responding crews.
Disaster has no schedule, and the victims of this sudden calamity are currently receiving assistance from a community program, provided to ensure their immediate needs are met in the aftermath of their losses.
