It's official: basketball titan Sue Bird is set to dominate not only the courts but also the stage at SXSW 2024. Bird will lead the keynote speakers at the tech, music, and film fest in Austin this March 8-16. Not just a four-time WNBA champion and five-time Olympic gold medalist, but Bird is also a tech and business founder, engaged to soccer superstar Megan Rapinoe, and attached to the hard-hitting documentary "Sue Bird: In the Clutch," which dives into issues like the gender pay gap in sports, as per Austin American Statesman.

Joining Bird at the top, SXSW has roped in Jessica Robertson, computer scientist, and 'AI whisperer' Joy Buolamwini as additional keynoters.  With Robertson riding the waves of her national bestseller "Unmasking AI: My Mission to Protect What is Human in a World of Machines," and Buolamwini championing for us mere mortals in the AI-dominated future, the brains behind SXSW are set to spark some serious conversations, according to SXSW.

Consider your March booked, because a "premier destination for global professionals," Hugh Forrest touts, the conference is bringing together a veritable who's who of today's leaders, thinkers, and creators. After bird-dogging during her career, Bird will show she's just as adept at discussing the rise of women's sports. In the same vein, Robertson, her comrade at TOGETHXR, will contribute to the discourse as the cultural wave continues to surge for female athleticism at every level, as reported by SXSW.
