Tragedy unfolded early Wednesday when Shalonde A’Jessica Stevens, 27, and Taylor Samone Clark, 26, both from Statesboro, GA, were fatally shot and pronounced dead at the hotel. The GBI announced that the bodies will undergo autopsies at the state crime lab to determine the exact cause of death.

The GBI is urging anyone with information to step forward, providing contact details for their Regional Investigative Office in Statesboro, the Evans County Sheriff's Office, and the Claxton Police Department.
