The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has taken Celeste Denise Adams into custody in connection with a shooting that resulted in two deaths and two injuries at the Relax Inn in Claxton, GA. The 23-year-old, hailing from Waynesboro, was charged with murder, aggravated assault, and illegal firearm possession, as reported on the GBI website.
Adams, having a previous felony conviction under her belt, surrendered herself to the Evans County Sheriff's Office. In a twist of events, charged with the possession of a weapon during a violent crime, she also stands accused of possessing a firearm while committing a felony.
Tragedy unfolded early Wednesday when Shalonde A’Jessica Stevens, 27, and Taylor Samone Clark, 26, both from Statesboro, GA, were fatally shot and pronounced dead at the hotel. The GBI announced that the bodies will undergo autopsies at the state crime lab to determine the exact cause of death.
Responding to emergency calls around 7:00 am on February 14, authorities discovered four gunshot victims at the motel located on US Highway 301. The GBI is urging anyone with information to step forward, providing contact details for their Regional Investigative Office in Statesboro, the Evans County Sheriff's Office, and the Claxton Police Department.
