A woman has been hospitalized in serious condition after being hit by a pickup truck on the Southwest Side of San Antonio yesterday night, according to police reports.
The incident occurred at the intersection of South Zarzamora Street and Vickers Avenue, just miles away from Somerset Road, where the San Antonio Police Department responded to the emergency call around 10 p.m., KENS5 reports.
Police say the unidentified woman dashed into the street and was struck by the vehicle, KSAT notes; she was subsequently transported by ambulance to a local hospital. The truck driver was evaluated for driving while intoxicated, but it remains unclear if any charges will be pressed against the individual involved in the crash.
The San Antonio Police Department the San Antonio Fire Department and EMS were all present at the scene, and the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident is still ongoing, and no more information about the injured woman or the driver has been released, at this point.
