
A grim scene unfolded in Hanson, Massachusetts, as emergency responders rushed to a construction site where the foundation of a house under construction partially collapsed earlier today, resulting in a "suspected fatality."
According to Boston 25, the incident occurred on Dwight Street and rescue teams, which included police officers, firefighters, and rescue crews, were dispatched to rescue the worker who had become trapped the spokesperson for the Plymouth County District Attorney's office relayed to the outlet that local and state police were actively responding to the incident that resulted in a tragic turn of events.
The dire circumstances unfolded around 11:30 a.m., and Hanson police confirmed the partial collapse of the building's foundation but deferred further inquiries to the DA's office, NBC Boston reported.
Photos and video from the somber site displayed a congregation of first responders and construction equipment, which starkly outlined the seriousness of the accident, while authorities have not yet released additional details regarding the identity of the worker or the circumstances leading to the collapse, such reports will be forthcoming as the investigation proceeds with due diligence.
