A 13-year-old boy has been slapped with a felony charge of armed robbery after Chicago police claim he held up a 57-year-old man at gunpoint earlier this year, authorities said. The unnamed juvenile allegedly targeted the older man in broad daylight during a January 3 incident, in the 500 block of N. Monticello Ave., according to a statement from the Chicago Police Department.
The arrest, which took place on March 18, 2024, saw the young suspect detained on the 1100 block of S. Hamilton Ave, after detectives fingered him as one of the individuals involved in the robbery, police officials detailed the involvement of the youth and his subsequent apprehension, he was later charged accordingly.
