Boston streets turned into a crime scene when a 17-year-old was arrested on firearm charges this past Friday, police said. The incident occurred around 1:58 PM near 55 Faneuil Street in Allston/Brighton, Boston, according to the official Boston Police Department report.
Responding to a tip about an individual brandishing a gun, cops responded and caught the suspect post-chase; the kid tried to bolt upon noticing law enforcement, leading to a foot pursuit that ended on Sanderson Place with the suspect in cuffs. The Glock 23, loaded and ready to fire, was found just lying by a driveway, the Boston Police relayed.
The unnamed minor has got his future hanging in the balance after he was slapped with multiple charges including unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition. The juvenile delinquent's going to face these serious allegations in Boston Juvenile Court, as he's under the age of adulthood.
While crime and justice have their day in court, the community breathes a wary sigh of relief that this time around, the Glock 23, chambered and loaded as it was, didn't sing its deadly tune on the streets of Allston/Brighton, community members and police alike understand though there's a tremendous amount of work yet to address the recurring theme of youth and guns.
