
An 18-year-old male, who was a juvenile at the time of the alleged crime, faces serious charges for a vehicular hijacking incident that occurred in December 2022. According to the Chicago Police Department, the individual has been charged with one felony count of Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking with a Firearm.
The accused was apprehended by the Vehicular Hijacking Task Force on March 12, in the vicinity of the 1500 block of W. Garfield. A detention hearing has been scheduled for the young man on March 13, at 1100 S. Hamilton. Despite being 18 now, the juvenile is being charged as a juvenile, aligning with his age at the time of the crime.
Authorities report that this youth was identified as one of the culprits who forcefully commandeered a vehicle at gunpoint from a 21-year-old male. The crime took place on December 30, 2022, in the 5400 block of S. Winchester, located in Chicago's 9th District. Following his identification, the juvenile was placed into custody and charged accordingly.
