An 18-year-old man tragically lost his life after a stabbing incident in a Glendale neighborhood on Friday morning. As per the details gathered from a FOX 10 Phoenix report, the victim was identified as Daniel James Santiago. Following the attack, which occurred around 8:25 a.m. near 67th and Maryland Avenues, Santiago was rushed to a hospital with critical injuries but was pronounced dead soon after.
Police were quick to respond to the chaotic scene after a witness was able to give a detailed description of the assailant, who had fled on foot. In efforts to rapidly apprehend the suspect, officers managed to track down and take into custody 20-year-old Robert Leo Williams. "There is no one outstanding, everyone is accounted for, and there are no significant road closures or impact to neighboring businesses," stated Glendale Police, ensuring the locals that the area was secure and safe for residents and passersby, despite an expected continued police presence in the neighborhood.
AZ Family further corroborated that the stabbing took place just north of Bethany Home Road and after the police arrived on the scene, the suspect was already attempting to make his escape. Thanks to the swift action of Glendale Police, the suspect was arrested, effectively concluding what they are calling an isolated incident.
Investigators now are tirelessly working to piece together the events leading to the untimely death of Santiago.
