An urgent search is underway in Berlin, New Hampshire, after an Amber Alert was issued for two children believed to have been abducted by their father. According to NBC Boston, New Hampshire State Police are actively seeking Dustin Duren, a 36-year-old male last seen driving a white 2017 Subaru Impreza with New Hampshire plate number V69023. Duren, described as 5'10" and roughly 190 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes, is suspected to be with his daughters, 4-year-old Elowyn Duren and 13-month-old Vaelyn Duren, both blonde-haired and blue-eyed.
The children's last known whereabouts were in Concord, New Hampshire, around 8 p.m. yesterday. Authorities deeply urge the public to avoid trying to directly approach Dustin Duren or the vehicle, citing concerns that he may be 'armed and dangerous'. Instead, those with any sightings are encouraged to immediately call 911. This insistence to potentially steer clear of a volatile situation aims to secure the safety of both the children and anyone who might spot them.
New Hampshire State Police have provided a detailed description of the missing individuals. "Elowyn is described as 3 feet tall with blonde hair and blue eyes. Vaelyn is described as being an infant with blonde hair and blue eyes," stated a report from Boston 25 News. Dustin Duren's physical attributes have as well been shared widely, with an emphasis on his appearance and the vehicle's distinctive New Hampshire veteran registration plate.
The community's role in aiding law enforcement cannot be undervalued, and such collective vigilance becomes an instrumental force in the endeavor to swiftly reunite these children with safety.
