In the heart of Arlington, Ana Valdez, a realtor with Keller Williams, is embodying the spirit of community and service during Small Business Promotion Week. Valdez, an Arlington native, has been connecting families with homes for nearly a decade, with a commitment to the 'Golden Rule.' According to the City of Arlington, Texas, Valdez said, "I love my job. I feel like my clients are my friends or family."
Having spent her formative years in Arlington, Valdez is deeply rooted in the community, attending Berry Elementary and Lamar High School. Initially set on a career in the medical field, holding a radiant fascination with radiology, it was a tragic house fire and her aunt's encouragement in property management that steered her towards real estate. "After that, I told my tía that I think I want to be a realtor, and that's how I got into real estate," Valdez remembered, as per the City of Arlington, Texas.
Now fluent in Spanish and English, Valdez prioritizes accessibility and understanding in her real estate services. She relayed to the City of Arlington, Texas, "About 90% of my clients speak Spanish, and I think it’s so important to help guide them and walk them through this process." She holds close to the emotional journeys of her clients, many of whom never believed homeownership was in their grasp.

The Planning & Development Service Department will be hosting Customer Appreciation Week alongside amenities like refreshments and bottled water waiting for those visiting the Small Business Promotion table.
Emphasizing the growth and support of East Arlington's local businesses, the City has spotlighted Canales Furniture, another burgeoning Arlington enterprise committed to community enrichment. Canales Furniture, now in its new headquarters at 102 E. I-20 Highway, is sponsoring various initiatives, including free English-speaking courses, citizenship classes, and social media marketing training for fellow small businesses, and this with the partnership of the Planning & Development Services Department for the entire year of 2024.
