Last week, a 14-year-old led police on a high-speed pursuit in Fayette County after carjacking a silver Honda Civic at gunpoint earlier in the day in DeKalb County. The Fayette County Sheriff's Office released video footage showcasing the dangerous chase involving multiple law enforcement agencies. The teen's erratic driving led to property damage, including hitting road signs, mailboxes, and colliding with another car, reported FOX 5 Atlanta.

After coming to a stop, the young suspect, wielding a gun, got out of the vehicle, but was quickly apprehended by deputies. Despite the potential for harm, no shots were fired during the arrest, and it was confirmed that no injuries occurred throughout the chase. Charged with several felonies including theft by receiving and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, the minor's name has not been released due to his age, as stated by Atlanta News First.

In addition to the aforementioned charges, the teenager is also facing counts of fleeing and possession of a firearm by a minor in Fayette County. The incident will further extend into DeKalb County, where the young offender will face multiple charges.

Local authorities in Fayette County were alerted and able to locate the stolen vehicle near Hwy 85 South and Stonewall Avenue shortly after the carjacking took place. According to both reporting agencies, this fast-responding by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office collaborated with the City of Fayetteville Public Safety to bring the pursuit to an end without further incident.
