
In a move honoring selfless service and devotion to mental health advocacy, Sen. Sally Harrell (D–Atlanta) shined a light on a local hero by bestowing the 2024 Nikki T. Randall Servant Leader Award to Susie Kyle, founder of Clubhouse Atlanta; the award was presented during the Yellow Rose Ceremony held by the Georgia Women's Legislative Caucus, as reported by Senate Press.
Launched by former Representative Nikki T. Randall, this annual tradition of the Georgia Women's Legislative Caucus nods to those who stand out in their commitment to lifting communities and this year, mother and mental health warrior Susie Kyle rose to the top, hailed for creating an oasis for those wrestling with mental illness, accredited no less by Clubhouse International which meticulously adheres to 37 standards in its mission Kyle began this journey inspired by her son Bo's battle with chronic mental illness.
"When I visited Clubhouse Atlanta, I was so impressed with what they do and how their model can give people living with mental illness a sense of community and belonging, ultimately helping keep them out of crisis and out of hospitals," Sen. Harrell stated in recognition of Kyle's achievement, according to Senate Press. Harrell's praise underlines the impact of Kyle's contribution to mental health advocacy and her extensive involvement with various organizations aimed at support and recovery.
