Authorities in Auburn are on the hunt for a man who, on Tuesday, robbed a local bank. The Auburn Police Department revealed to the public via social media that the hold-up occurred at 12:33 p.m at the WaFd Bank on 206 A St. SE, as reported by KATU News.
The suspect, described as a "white male," concealed his identity with a black face mask moments before entering the establishment, police described. He wielded a "black semi-automatic pistol with a silver barrel" and directed those inside to get down. The terrified patrons and staff were left with no choice but to comply, according to a statement obtained by KOMO News.
After demanding and receiving an undisclosed sum of money, the man took flight from the premises, instigating an immediate police search operation. Surveillance photos showcasing the suspect have been disseminated in hopes that citizens might recognize the individual and aid in his capture.
