
A woman was found dead outside her home in Ashby on Wednesday, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Ashby Chief of Police Derek Pepple reported. The tragic discovery took place around midday at a Richardson Road residence, stirring local community unease despite officials ruling out foul play early on.
Authorities were called to the scene after a 911 call reporting the woman as unresponsive. Arriving just before 1 p.m., the 58-year-old woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, was pronounced dead shortly after the police got there. According to a statement from the Middlesex District Attorney's office, "the death does not appear to be suspicious and there does not appear to be any ongoing threat to the public."
It comprises professionals from the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, and Ashby Police to ensure a thorough examination of the events leading up to the fatality.
Community members relieved to hear there is no public threat.
