In a haunting case that rattled the community of Boca Raton, a man pleaded guilty to a series of heinous crimes against a mental health therapist held captive for 15 hours. Tzvi Allswang, now 22, admitted to the attempted first-degree murder, kidnapping, and five counts of sexual battery two years ago, CBS12 reported.
Allswang's conviction came after he was shot in the head by a deputy while holding the victim at knifepoint. According to court records, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office responded to the terrifying incident on July 2, 2022, after the therapist's mother alerted them that her daughter might have been kidnapped. Deputies twice visited the scene upon her insistence, eventually breaching the home to rescue the woman and incapacitate Allswang, as noted by WPTV.
The victim, a dedicated social worker, had been tasked with aiding Allswang's integration into societal norms, such as securing employment and navigating job interviews. However, the help she offered was repaid with brutal violence that ended with Sgt. William Nogueras of the PBSO shooting the assailant — an action that likely saved her life. Allswang, who has also agreed that he is a dangerous sexual offender, awaits sentencing scheduled for May 31.
The hostage, whose name has been withheld for privacy reasons, was taken to Wellington Regional Hospital for treatment following the ordeal.
