A grim discovery was made behind a Target in Royal Palm Beach, Florida, as a body was retrieved from a pond, sparking a significant police investigation yesterday. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office confirmed the finding, and while details about the individual's identity and the circumstances of their death were not immediately made public, foul play is not suspected.
The scene unfolded at the waterway located behind the Super Target on State Road 7 and Okeechobee Boulevard, with law enforcement cordoning off the area as they carried out their investigations, according to CBS12. The body's presence came to light on the afternoon of Tuesday, which led to the arrival of sheriff's deputies and the subsequent discovery.
Meanwhile, another report by WPTV noted the heavy law enforcement presence. Additional details such as the victim's gender, and how long the body may have been in the water were not disclosed, as investigators continue to piece together the events leading to the individual's untimely demise.
The PBSO has not yet commented on the potential cause of death, or the timeframe in which the body was in the pond. They have, however, ruled out foul play early in their investigation.
