Bostonians brace for a wet, though not wild, week ahead as forecasters predict an enduring spell of rain and clouds starting Sunday. As per the National Weather Service, drizzle might dampen Sunday prior to the crowds observing patchy morning fog and predominantly overcast skies. The high is expected to reach 53 degrees with north northwest winds stirring at 7 to 10 mph.
The weather pattern doesn't intend to let up as Monday offers only a slight reprieve from the grayness with continued cloudy conditions and highs hovering near 52 degrees. By Tuesday, your umbrellas will be non-negotiable; rain is "likely, mainly after 2pm," with the chance of precipitation ramping up to 70%. The NBC Boston predicts that the showers rolling in on Tuesday signal the onset of a persistent wet streak.
Temperatures will not stray too far from typical March comfort, with warmest readings on Wednesday, possibly reaching 61 degrees. Wednesday night, however, the forecast reads like a broken record with more rain likely and lows around 43 degrees. Thursday's outlook isn't much sunnier, with rain and breezy conditions sticking around and highs dropping to a chillier 43 degrees.
Despite the dreary drumbeat of raindrops, the anticipated temperatures stay more or less mild, trapping Boston in a lukewarm embrace close to the mid-50s early on, and then descending gently to the upper 40s by Friday. The wet weather, a source of consternation for some, is forecasted to linger at least through Saturday, and, "Above normal days continue for at least the next 10 days," states NBC Boston. Residents should gear up for recurring encounters with their rain gear as showers may become a familiar scene well into the following week.
