Attention Western High School neighbors: prepare for some added racket come tomorrow morning. The School Board of Broward County announced it's going to be a noisy affair as they roll out a series of sound check-ups from 6:30 a.m. to high noon.
The agenda is set for pinpointing weak spots in the school's alarm system, so when the bell tolls, you bet every corner of campus will hear it, this involves measuring the decibels across different spots to gauge if students are really catching the cue or just snoozing through it, to put it the way the notice did, they're "to ensure the school alarm is working properly."
They've sounded off an apology in advance for any disrupt this may cause, so it's probably wise to plan for the intermittent bursts of bells and beeps if you're around the Western High area. And that goes double if you're not an early bird, because the symphony of sounds is set to start bright and early.
Best to reschedule that meditation hour or any home office calls—you've been given the heads up, after all, the School Board's communique was clear as day: residents "may hear intermittent sounds or increased noise during the testing hours" and while they've bared their apologies, the tests must go on.
