A Deerfield Beach community is grappling with yet another senseless hit-and-run, this time resulting in a motorcyclist fighting for his life. The Broward Sheriff's Office (BSO) has launched an active hunt for the driver of a silver Hyundai Elantra, years 2016 to 2019, implicated in the serious collision that took place late Monday. According to the NBC Miami report, the incident unfolded around 10:20 p.m. at the intersection of Southwest 10th Street and South Dixie Highway.
As per the BSO's statement, Clifford Jackson, 57, was westbound on his 2006 Honda CBR 1000 motorcycle on Southwest 10th Street when the Elantra driver made a left turn to head north on South Dixie Highway, turning directly into the motorcyclist's path. The vehicle collided with Jackson, who was thrown to the ground and sustained life-threatening injuries before the Hyundai fled the scene, heading north as per the Boca Post account.
Authorities are piecing the puzzle together, seeking the public's help to track down the errant driver. A reward of up to $5,000 has been put on the table for information leading to an arrest. The runaway car will bear telltale damage on its passenger side doors and mirror, as stated by the BSO. Citizens holding any key information are encouraged to contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
In the wake of the crash, paramedics quickly transported Jackson to a hospital for urgent care. Currently, the investigation is guided by BSO THI Detective Michael Wiley and the call for observers, bystanders, and anyone with a potential lead to step forward is urgent. Anonymity is assured for those reaching out to Broward Crime Stoppers, or alternatively, they can dial **TIPS (8477) from any mobile device within the U.S., guaranteeing that those with whispers of truth can speak without fear of their shadows being cast long and dark across their own lives.
