Grab your mugs, New Yorkers – there's a new coffee spot coming to town, and it's packing a south-of-the-border punch. What Now Phoenix reports that Caffenio, a Hermosillo-based juggernaut with eight decades of caffeine under its belt, is brewing up plans to set foot in the U.S. with its first storefront. Arizona's bound to get a bit more caffeinated as this Mexican favorite readies to pour over state lines.
Caffenio, according to the same source, isn’t just dipping its toes – it's diving headfirst with an aggressive 36-month expansion plan throughout Arizona and the Southwest. The company guarantees a sip of authenticity with their shops, featuring 100 percent Mexican Pluma Hidalgo Oaxaca beans and a menu boasting 90 different drinks and tasty bites, spanning espressos to sandwiches.
Their first U.S. foray will land in Mesa's Fiesta District – a perfect spot for coffee aficionados to indulge in Caffenio's robust flavors and signature pastries. ABC15 spilled the beans, revealing that Stewart + Reindersma Architecture has already crafted the blueprint for the inaugural prototype store, with a U.S. Facebook page now steaming with updates for eager Valley locals.
"We have over 150 drive-thru stores and are in over 20,000 convenience stores and over 1,300 hotels and restaurants throughout Mexico," a company representative disclosed the impressive reach of the brand to What Now Phoenix. Celebrated for their speedy service, Caffenio employs self-service touch screens and tablets – ensuring your coffee fix arrives fast, without the rush-hour traffic feel. And get this: double drive-thru lanes can handle over 15 cars with an exclusive lane just for those using the Caffenio app.
The Mesa outpost hasn't perked up with an opening date yet, but the anticipation is as palpable as the fragrance of a fresh brew. So, for Southwest dwellers and coffee pilgrims alike, keep your cups at the ready. Caffenio is about to make its American espresso-sion, one cup at a time.
