A harrowing event unfolded at a Buckeye, Arizona, gas station last week, where a woman's apparent abduction was captured on surveillance footage. The Buckeye Police Department has released the video, asking for the public's assistance to identify both the victim and the suspect involved in the incident. The episode occurred on the night of Feb. 23 near Interstate 10 and Watson Road, as reported by FOX 10 Phoenix.

The troubling video shows an SUV pulling up to a Circle K gas pump where shortly after, a woman is seen attempting to flee the vehicle. A man emerges, chasing her down and after placing the woman in what appears to be a chokehold, he drags her back to the car. "That video is extremely concerning to us, and we understand that that video would be concerning to the viewers that are watching it, so that's why we were here today, asking for information from the public to help us identify these two subjects, to help identify them and see if this woman is OK," Buckeye Police Sgt. Tamela Skaggs said in a statement obtained by FOX 10 Phoenix.

The department has described the vehicle as a gray Nissan Rogue, an estimated model year between 2021 and 2023. Unfortunately, the license plate was not captured by the surveillance equipment. Buckeye police consider the case to have a high level of urgency due to the nature of the events and the potential danger to the woman involved. "The timing in this investigation is extremely crucial. Watching that video, we are concerned for that female. Again, we urge anybody with information to come forward," Sgt. Skaggs told azfamily.com.

Authorities have little information on the identities of the two individuals or their relationship to one another. The investigation hinges largely on tips from the public, with police keen on learning whether the woman is safe. "We know nothing about these two subjects – if they know each other if they're in a relationship together - we don't know anything about them," Sgt. Skaggs said in a report, as per FOX 10 Phoenix. The Buckeye Police Department has encouraged anyone with any information to step forward and contact them directly at 623-349-6411 or submit a tip online through their website.
