A 17-year-old male has been slapped with multiple felony counts of burglary after being linked to a string of break-ins at Chicago retail businesses. Police arrested the suspect on March 7, 2024, following investigations into the burglaries, which began last year.

The juvenile, whose name is withheld due to his age, is facing three felony charges for burglary and an additional charge for attempted burglary. The Chicago Police Department announced the arrest, revealing that the incidents occurred at various locations in the city's 14th District. Arrested near the 1100 block of S. Hamilton, he was soon connected to the prior crimes.

According to the Chicago Police Department's statement, the series of illegal entries took place beginning September 29, 2023, on the 2800 block of N. Central Park. Additional burglaries were executed on January 28 and January 30, 2024, at locations in the 3300 block of W. Fullerton and the 2900 block of N. Milwaukee, respectively. A failed attempt on January 20 at the 2700 block of N. Milwaukee adds to the suspect's charges.

As the alleged perpetrator of these acts, the teen now must face the judicial system, stripped of anonymity, and his alleged acts laid bare before the public eye. Placed in custody, the authorities have charged him and he now awaits further legal proceedings. The Chicago Police Department declined to provide further details about the case or the involved juvenile.
