Taiwan-based carrier China Airlines is all set to bridge the gap between Taipei and Seattle with the resumption of non-stop flights, providing a new gateway for travelers come July 14. One Mile at a Time reports that this marks the return of the service that was halted back in 2008, offering passengers a direct 6,075-mile connection on an Airbus A350-900 jet. The airline sticks to a near daily schedule, missing only Wednesdays and Fridays for eastbound flights, while the westbound will not fly on Thursdays and Saturdays.

Flying times, to be sure are set to take advantage of night travel, with the eastbound trek lasting 11 hours and 20 minutes, departing Taipei at 11:30 PM and arriving in Seattle at 7:50 PM, meanwhile, the return leg takes 12 hours 25 minutes, starting from Seattle at an odd timing of 1:40 AM, but they'll be touching down the next morning in Taipei at 5:05 AM, not the best for catching Z's on the plane given the timings, but it's certainly a boost for the expansive North American network of China Airlines. Travel and Tour World also highlighted the convenience of the schedule for passengers connecting between North America and Asia.

In celebration of the service, China Airlines is not missing a beat to entice travelers with up to 22% discounts on round trip fares and exclusive members-only bonus miles, as per a China Airlines press release. The offer stands as part of a strategy to stake a bigger claim in the competitive transfer market in Asia and the bustling U.S inbound travel scene.

The expansion reflects a post-pandemic boom for China Airlines, with the airline currently winging its way to five major destinations in the USA and Canada business has been on the uptick, the airline decided it's high time to add Seattle to its roster, a city that saw over 50 million travelers in 2023 alone; it's a strategic move, China Airlines is not resting on their laurels, having already established a unique non-stop service to Ontario (CA) from Asia and managing up to three flights a day into the Greater Los Angeles region, this additional service is poising China Airlines to cater to over 40 return flights to North America each week offering a boon for tech entrepreneurs and Rainier climbers alike that make up the diverse tapestry of Seattle's visitors.
