The City of Ramsey will open its doors for a community blood drive on March 27 at the Ramsey Municipal Center. The event is scheduled to run from 12:00 noon until 6:00 P.M. in the Alexander Ramsey Room, a space named for the city's namesake and Minnesota's first territorial governor.
With the ongoing need for blood donations, the Ramsey blood drive comes at a critical time as the demand for blood remains constant and donations often decrease around this time of year, complicating the task of maintaining supply for hospitals and emergency services. However, potential donors are encouraged to sign up ahead of time to secure their spot. According to a post on the city's official Facebook page, appointments can be scheduled by visiting the Red Cross website and entering the sponsor code "Ramsey."
Each donation can help save up to three lives. The Red Cross has expressed the continuous need for blood of all types, especially O negative which is universally accepted and critical for trauma emergencies, as well as platelets that play a vital role in cancer and surgical procedures. With a simple appointment process, it's made easy for Ramsey residents to contribute to the collective well-being of not just their city but the broader health ecosystem.
