
A man was found dead early Saturday morning in Dallas, the victim of an apparent shooting. Dallas Police were called for a welfare check around 12:45 a.m. on March 16, to the 1700 block of Mentor Avenue, according to the Dallas Police Department. Upon arrival, they discovered 31-year-old Christopher Hawkins unresponsive on the ground outside a home.
Dallas Fire Rescue arrived quickly to find Hawkins had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene. Following the grim discovery, the SWAT team executed a search warrant at the home but failed to locate any potential suspects or occupants inside. The case currently remains open as an ongoing investigation, with the Dallas Police marking it under case number 042559-2024.
Authorities are now reaching out to the public for assistance. Detective Phillip Wheeler, who is becoming in charge of the case, is urging anyone with information to come forward.
