DEARBORN, Mich. — A manhunt is underway in the city of Dearborn as police intensify their search for a suspect involved in a recent home invasion, authorities said. The incident, which took place shortly after 8 p.m. on March 4, has left the community on edge as the individual remains at large. The Dearborn Police Department is urging locals to exercise vigilance following the break-in at a residence on the 7600 block of Barrie Street, as reported by ClickOnDetroit.
The unidentified man, who allegedly tried to gain entry through the locked front door, managed his way into the home through an unsecured window after failing to receive a response from the video doorbell. The suspect is also believed to be linked to a series of similar breaking-and-entering crimes across other parts of the country, according to officials. "Our residents have a right to feel safe and secure in their homes, and this brazen act violates that right," Police Chief Issa Shahin asserted in a statement obtained by WWJ Newsradio 950.
The ongoing investigation has yielded video surveillance images of the man, raising hopes that someone in the public might recognize him.
