The Bath House Cultural Center has rolled out an artsy array of events you don't want to miss this March. Tucked away at 521 E. Lawther Dr. near the tranquil White Rock Lake, the cultural hub is set for a month-long slate of creativity-packed activities, ranging from exhibitions and concerts to a sketchbook club and a Spring Equinox celebration, according to the City of Dallas.
Launching the lineup at the gallery is the 29th Annual El Corazón Exhibition, curated by Jose Vargas, which has been wooing visitors since February 3, and is set to conclude on March 9. In parallel, the venue has been hosting the 'Soft Bones: Fibers and Materials Studies Exhibition' by curator Analise Minjarez, showcasing innovative textile art which is also wrapping up on March 9.
For the family-oriented, the 'Family Arts Bash' has been marked in the books for March 2, offering a creative spree from 12:00-3:00 pm alongside an Art Demo to awaken the inner artist in everyone, running from 1:00-5:00 pm. As if on cue, the 'Lakefront Live! Concert Series' on March 5 and 19 promises to serve up melodic evenings courtesy of Maya Piata and Maestro Maya, respectively, providing aural treats from 7:30-9:00 pm.
Meanwhile, Pegasus Theatre has taken residence at the Black Box Theater to present 'Color of Death' from March 7 through 23, ensuring that theatergoers can get their dramatic fix. On a lighter note, the 'Sketchbook Club with SM.Sanz' on March 13 aims to attract doodlers and drafters to its ranks for a sketching session scheduled for 7:30-9:00 pm.
Saluting Spring, the 'Spring Equinox Celebration' on March 16 will entice those in search of a cultural homage to the changing seasons, featuring a gathering running from 12:00-4:00 pm. Further fostering the growing art scene in Dallas, the ART214 Biennial Juried Exhibition is set to open its doors on March 23, with an opening reception on March 30 from 6:00-8:00 pm, inviting guests to witness the convergence of local talents who've made the cut.
Concluding the month's festivities with a bit of education, the 'Garden Muse' lecture on March 28, focusing on 'North Texas Artists and Master Gardeners – Pollinators in the Garden,' will impart knowledge from 7:00-9:00 pm. Lastly, for the avant-garde crowd, the SZNs CHNGE Collective unveils its creative visions in their 'FlexArt Space' on March 30, inviting the public to the opening event on April 14.
