
In the pre-dawn hours of Friday, a harrowing incident unfolded as an 18-wheeler truck lost control on the Northeast Side of San Antonio, spurring an intense crash followed by a blaze that engulfed the vehicle, yet remarkably, the driver emerged unscathed. According to FOX San Antonio, the accident was reported to occur along North Loop 1604 West near Green Mountain Road when the driver, grappling with treacherous wet conditions, hydroplaned and struck an inner barrier wall; the aftermath saw the truck careening down a grassy embankment before coming to rest on its side.
The violent forces involved pitched the truck down and off the road, culminating in an overturned cab that soon found itself swallowed by fire, San Antonio Police detailed the chaotic sequence of events, noting that it all transpired before the break of day at around 3 a.m.KENS 5 reported that the tractor-trailer initially connected with the wall on a Loop 1604 curve, sent sprawling across the main lanes, which resulted in hours of road closure and traffic disruptions as emergency crews scrambled to manage the scene and extinguish the flames.
Fortunately, the driver - managed an escape from the inferno with no reported injuries.
