The historic Travis Building, a longstanding feature of downtown San Antonio, is preparing to serve up doughnuts and coffee as Dunkin' announces plans to open a new location within its walls, KSAT reports. The eatery, set to launch sometime between August and September, will operate from the early hours of 5 a.m. through to 8 p.m., seven days a week, carving out its niche near the city's popular River Walk area.
While the addition is sure to be a hit with San Antonio's doughnut lovers, the store is expected to create about 12-20 jobs, a spokesperson told KSAT.Dunkin’ is trying to find parking accommodations for guests, aiming to address one of the concerns that might arise with the influx of visitors the new location is expecting to attract. With the store's central location, the hope is to draw in both tourists and locals in equal measure.
According to a piece from BNNBreaking, the new Dunkin' store is feeding the masses and also involves integration into the community, representatives from Dunkin' have stressed the importance of adding to the local economy and the downtown area's existing charm.
