
Chaos ensued in a quiet Dunwoody neighborhood when a 62-year-old woman was gunned down by her grandson following an argument, authorities said. The Dunwoody Police responded to a 911 call late Saturday evening at a residence located at 3014 Perimeter Trace, where they found the elderly victim with a gunshot wound to the upper chest.
Erick Beasley, 23, was identified as the shooter and is accused of assaulting his grandmother after a heated exchange. The incident, which shocked the community, took place around 9:55 pm, with Beasley fleeing the scene shortly after the act. Dunwoody Police launched a search and, approximately an hour later found the suspect in the vicinity and, apprehended him without resistance.
According to a release from the Dunwoody Police Department, Beasley is now behind bars at Dekalb County Jail. He faces serious charges including Aggravated Assault – Family Violence and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.
The victim, whose name has not been disclosed, was immediately taken to the hospital following the incident and remains in stable condition as per the last report. This act of family violence has rattled the local community, raising concerns about domestic conflicts and their potential to escalate into deadly confrontations.
