Fairfield Police Arrest Three Juveniles After High-Speed Chase Ends in Fiery CrashSource: Google Street View

Chaos erupted in Fairfield early this month when a vehicle, reported stolen from the 800 block of East Tabor Avenue, became the centerpiece of a high-speed police chase. Officers J. and S. Smith of the Fairfield Police Department spotted the stolen car cruising along SR-12 at Pennsylvania Avenue. They attempted to pull it over around 4:30 p.m., but the young suspects had other plans and floored it, according to a post on the department's Facebook page.

Given the heavy traffic and the danger posed by the suspect's erratic driving, officers had to decide to self-terminate the pursuit. It wasn't long before a large plume of smoke signaled trouble near SR-12 and Chadbourne Road as the car met its fiery demise.

Witnesses saw several individuals bolting from the smoldering wreck toward a nearby car dealership. Quick to respond, the police set up a perimeter, and a short while later, three juvenile males found themselves in handcuffs. One of the young suspects was reportedly in possession of a replica gun at the time of the arrest.

The Fairfield Police Department has yet to release the identities of the involved juveniles, maintaining discretion due to their minor status.
