The family of Isaac Goodlow, the man fatally shot by Carol Stream police, is calling for the release of unedited body camera footage and demanding the names of the officers involved. At a recent village board meeting, Goodlow's relatives, accompanied by supporters, pressed Carol Stream officials for transparency and accountability in the February shooting that took place during a reported domestic violence incident.

Goodlow's sister, Kennetha Barnes, delivered a pointed message at the meeting, saying, "You need to be honest. Your boys messed up. You're embarrassed. You're ashamed. Deal with it." The family's attorney, Andrew M. Stroth, echoed their concerns, stating, "They immediately shot and killed an unarmed Black man. It speaks for itself," in a statement obtained by ABC7 Chicago.

The publicly released video shows police entering Goodlow's apartment with a key given by a building employee. It captures the moments officers found Goodlow in a bedroom and fatally shot him seconds after announcing their presence. "He was asleep! He was alone, sleeping peacefully. And they came in there, and they ambushed him," Goodlow's niece, Dajaenae Barnes, told ABC7 Chicago.

Amidst the outcry for answers, Trustee Matt McCarthy at the board meeting acknowledged the gravity of the situation. "The video certainly doesn't answer all the questions we have about what took place, but is a key piece of evidence that independent investigators will evaluate alongside all of the evidence going forward," he said, according to ABC7 Chicago.
