
Four teens took a run at lawlessness and lost, nabbed by the Metropolitan Police after an alleged attempted robbery at a bus stop, police said. The suspects, aging from 13 to 15, surrounded a victim in Southwest D.C. demanding his jacket, and the situation quickly escalated when one brandished a gun, according to a statement by the MPD.
The incident unfolded on March 5, near the corner of 4th and Maine Avenue Southwest, when the victim, bus-bound, became the target of intimidation and violence. The assailants allegedly followed him onto the bus, punched him, and, when the victim met his mother, pointed a gun at her before fleeing. They were caught by the officers, who were alerted at around 3:36 p.m. in the 300 block of M Street, Southwest. according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
The youngest of the group, a 13-year-old from Arlington, VA, is facing charges of Felony Threats and Assault with the Intent to Rob. The other teens arrested include another 13-year-old from Southwest D.C., a 14-year-old also from Arlington, VA, and a 15-year-old from Southeast D.C., all charged with Assault with the Intent to Rob, as per the Metropolitan Police Department.
