Fulton County Prosecutor Fani Willis and her former flame, special prosecutor Nathan Wade, are tangled in a legal storm after a conservative watchdog group lobbed ethics complaints against them. The American Accountability Foundation (AAF) wants the Georgia state bar to crack down with disciplinary action over accusations of dishonesty and misuse of campaign funds.
According to FOX News, Willis, who found herself in hot water following an "improper" affair with Wade, spilled during a Fulton County Superior Court hearing on February 15 that she dished out campaign cash for personal indulgences, even keeping a stash at home. "Cash is fungible. I’ve had cash for years in my house. So for me to tell you the source of where it comes from ... when you go to Publix and you buy something and you get fifty dollars, and you throw it in there. It’s been my whole life," said Willis during her testimony. AAF argues this breeches Georgia Campaign Finance law, which strictly forbids candidates from using campaign funds for their personal gain.
As for Wade, the allegations are just as damning. While under oath concerning his extramarital escapades in a divorce case, Wade pulled a fast one by denying any illicit rendezvous. However, AAF isn't buying it, asserting that Wade's marathon of lies compromises his ability to uphold legal integrity. "It is challenging to think of a more clear-cut example of ‘dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation,’ according to the AAF complaint," as Just the News reported.
Before the misconduct claims went public, AAF teased their forthcoming revelations on X, the successor to the now-defunct Twitter. "We are about to drop an ATOM BOMB on Fulton County's sad joke of a district attorney, Fani Willis. This is gonna be INSANE!" rang their bold proclamation. Willis and Wade have yet to respond to FOX News Digital’s request for comment on the matter.
