The other half is being poured into various recovery efforts, backing nonprofits that are scrambling to respond to the fire's aftermath, KENS5 reported.
As the largest wildfire event in Texas history continues to char lands and affect lives, H-E-B has not hesitated to quickly dispatch truckloads of food, hygiene items, and necessary supplies to bolster the High Plains Food Bank's vital relief operations. "Our hearts go out to all those impacted by this disaster," said H-E-B Group Vice President Winell Herron, committing the company to assist in the region's recovery. According to a statement obtained by KWTX, the grocer is also harnessing the generosity of its customers with a donation campaign at their checkstands to further aid the cause.
