Early Tuesday morning, a routine gas station visit turned into the backdrop for an aggravated robbery and a high-speed chase across several Texas counties. According to KENS 5, the incident began when two men approached a person pumping gas at a convenience store. With the menace of a long gun, they demanded the keys to a purple Dodge Charger, promptly took the car, and fled the scene.
Multiple law enforcement agencies, including Texas DPS and Atascosa Sheriff's Office, coordinated to track and pursue the stolen vehicle. The high-speed chase ensued, forcing authorities to lay down spike strips in a bid to finally halt the escape. These efforts bore fruit south of Pleasanton on Interstate 37, where the Dodge Charger's tires were blown out, according to information provided by FOX San Antonio.
The apprehension of the four suspects involved in the carjacking and subsequent chase was confirmed by local authorities, though details about their identities or the specific charges they might face have yet to be released. While the audacious theft and daring pursuit unfolded, it was also confirmed that no injuries were reported during these events.
As the aftermath unfolds and law enforcement processes the scene, the suspects find themselves firmly in custody. Further updates are anticipated as the investigation continues.
