Flames tore through a Hillsboro mobile home this weekend, displacing two residents and causing a temporary road closure, officials reported. The fire erupted Saturday evening in the 1900 block of SE Minter Bridge Road, drawing Hillsboro Fire and Rescue into swift action after multiple stories of smoke and fire were observed.

The blaze, which sent 20-foot flames into the sky, was aggressively tackled by firefighters who arrived swiftly on the scene. According to KOIN, the fire was controlled within 20 minutes, and, fortunately, no injuries were sustained in the incident. The intensity of the fire prompted a road closure between Southeast River Road and Tualatin Valley Highway to prevent the spread to neighboring homes, and to secure a water supply from a nearby fire hydrant.

Residents of the destroyed home were left without shelter, but the American Red Cross and a public safety chaplain were quick to offer assistance. "A public safety chaplain responded to the scene to provide support and assistance to the residents who were displaced because of the fire. The American Red Cross is providing additional support," stated a report by Southern Oregon Scanner. Initial concerns that pets could be trapped inside the burning structure were allayed when it was confirmed that the two adult residents had no pets and had evacuated after their smoke alarms went off.

An investigation into the cause of the catastrophe is currently underway by a Hillsboro Fire investigator. While the fire's origin remains undetermined, crews were seen salvaging whatever personal belongings remained intact, according to KPTV.
